Perhaps!
Yesterday evening my "Prince Charming" walked in after a hard day’s work and handed me a bouquet of beautiful purple hydrangeas. I didn’t have dinner started yet, and we were just having un-exciting grilled sandwiches, but there were no complaints. Pace immediately started wrestling and running around the yard/house with the forever energetic and attention-craving Chase. After dinner Pace voluntarily mowed the lawn. Later I started to wipe down the bathrooms, and he came up and said, "What can I do?" I told him if he wanted to do a chore for me he could scrub the tubs. He whisked the cleaning supplies from my hand and told me to go sit and relax (yes, this is a true story)! He then proceeded to clean both bathtubs! All three of us then watched Dumbo together, after which Pace helped me put Chase to bed. Then he helped me put away a load of clean laundry, so that it took no time at all.
This was all especially wonderful because I have been feeling a bit lonely and bored lately, not like I don’t have plenty to do around the house… It’s just challenging to keep up with Chase and to find kids for him to play with, activities to keep him busy all day long, etc. And I don’t think that will change for the better any time soon… But when I look at all that I DO have, I am so grateful and I realize that our problems are very few. So when we were going to bed last night, I looked at Pace collapsed on the bed (with green feet from mowing the lawn barefoot) and I couldn’t have felt more grateful to Heavenly Father for this amazing husband! Thank you, Pace!
