Surround yourselves

So remember that conference talk a while ago about surrounding yourselves with good things. We took that to heart in the McCulloch household, and got rid of our Asian influenced decor in the living room and put up a picture of the Oakland temple. We also made sure to have lots of pictures of Christ around, to help us remember our Savior. Well, we liked our temple picture so much, we’ve started selling them on our online store, LDSstock.com. We have all kinds of images from temples, to Christ, to Book of Mormon, and Pioneer themes. Check em out.

Charlotte Noel = a One Year Old!

Charlotte turned one on December 27th! With both Chase and Charlotte, I’ve felt a sense of accomplishment when they’ve made it to age one, all in one piece. 🙂 It might be partly because that’s when I start to wrap up the nursing era, or because I think the sleep issues will come to an end. With Charlotte, I definitely feel like the time has flown by!DSC02962 DSC04263Overall, Charlotte is a calm baby girl (unless she’s screaming in the middle of the night) who really, really enjoys eating and drinking. A LOT.

DSC04367 DSC04319DSC04398 DSC04400 She also currently likes to: be held, wave, empty the contents of my purse, say “uh-oh”, smile contentedly, scream at Chase when he smothers her, pretend to talk on the phone, and “drive” things on the floor by pushing them around.

We love our sweet baby Charlotte!

Facebook defaults to public

FYI for all you Facebookers out there, the default privacy settings are about to change. What happens when they do? Well your photos and status updates will go live over the internet, and most likely WILL be found since facebook made a deal with search engines to super charge site search. So just so you know, check in with your privacy settings and set them to whatever you feel comfortable with. I’ll be keeping mine set to friends only for everything.

Chrome for Mac (BETA)

So Chrome has been out a while now for PC and yeah it’s pretty snappy, I admit it’s as fast as Firefox, and on some pages faster, but it has no extensions. Well the Mac version was released yesterday, and Holy Hold on to your mouse Batman is it fast! This Beta version zips through pages that are properly coded, and SMOKES any google app (gmail, cal, docs, picasa, etc). Now I’m not going to jump ship from FireFox to Chrome, mainly b/c I’m building stuff and FF has SO many tools to help with that, BUT if I were just a run of the mill internet user, I’d be all over Chrome. So if you are looking for the fastest browser on the Mac, go grab Chrome for Mac. If you are still looking for the most polished and useful, and still pretty fast browser, grab Firefox.

UPDATE: Ok the BETA seems to not be a marketing ploy, but really serious. There are a couple or quirks with this right now, most of you might want to wait for the stable release and the GUI has some things to get used to, like the magical status bar at the bottom that shows up only for certain actions, and the lack of any settings or bookmark menus.

Happy Birthday Wife

Only one of you reading this is my wife, so only the Happy Birthday part applies to the rest of you. Today Joy turns 20 something. OH boy! So fast she has grown up, right before our eyes she has gone from just married, to having one kid, to having two kids, and now three kids.

Now is when I was going to go into all the amazing things she does like stay up with the kids, play with all day, teach them important things, forgive, laugh, love, rub my shoulders, make amazing food, look good, clean, buy stuff, however I don’t have much time, b/c I’m leaving work early to go meet her to eat dinner.. so maybe next time.

LOVE YOU JOY, Happy Birthday!

Another reason Android phones ROCK

Android phones are AWESOME. If you haven’t heard, Joy and I jumped onto Sprint, mainly b.c they were the most affordable way to get smartphones. We are both sporting Samsung Moments running Android 1.5. Hopefully they will update us soon to Android 2.0 so we can get even more cool features, but alas, we have to wait for some good things. One of those is Google Goggles that just came out today, and wow, it’s sweet! Check it out, and discuss:

The Blind Side

Rachel & Jessica took me out for a dinner and movie night to celebrate my b-day (a few days early). Thank you, sisters, especially for all the laughs!!! We went to California Pizza Kitchen (yum), stopped to get some candy, and went to see The Blind Side.

We loved the movie! It was predictable, yes, but I felt neither bored nor overstimulated while watching it, which I can’t usually say after seeing a movie. It was uplifting; I was reminded of how grateful I am for my upbringing, and felt very thankful for all that I have. In my opinion, the cast was great and the movie was well done. I would even see it again! What did you think about The Blind Side?

Story of more stuff

So the awesome crew over at story of stuff just took the time to explain something I’d never heard of. And since it was presented in an animated movie, I believe it. Here’s the teaser for it:
