Beyond Balderdash 2

INITIALS = T.H.M.A.

Balderdash rules (for those who’ve never played): “The main objective is to make up answers that will bluff other players, as well as for choosing the real and often unbelievable answer. ONE per person.

WORDS- What is the definition?
PEOPLE – What is the person known for?
INITIALS- What do they stand for?
MOVIES- What is this movie about?
DATES- What happend on this day?”

Apple Event, next week!

“Tuesday, members of the press received an invite to “come see some fun new products from Apple” on February 28 (more details here). Unlike many of the release events in the past couple of years, this latest enticement directs us to Apple’s Town Hall on the Cupertino campus. Recent rumors that the company filed a patent for a touch-screen interface for the iPod have fueled the buzz that a sixth-gen iPod is in the works. Is that what Apple will show off to the press next Tuesday?” What do you think?

Beyond Balderdash Score

Welcome to McBlog Beyond Balderdash, where the points really don’t matter. And the real definition that I choose previous to posting was: a Canadian word for making out.

PointsHere’s the score for this weeks game, if you didn’t post, try to read MCBlog more frequently. Thanks to all those who played. Currently, Cotton has 5000 points for being funny, close to the real asnwer, and rhyming. Joy had 7000 points but lost 6001 because she called names; leaving her with 999. Ryan Gardner had 3000 points, lost 3001 for saying he was right, but gained 601 for saying he had documentation. Jason McG has 0 points b/c after I told him the answer he posted it. Steph Z has 1000 points for describing the thing that everyone hates touching when they have to reach into the disposal. Good work everyone, so the winners in alphabetical order are: Cotton, Joy, Ryan G., Steph Z.

Walmart Cover-up

A massive cover-up has been discovered at Walmart. Thanks to one honest employee by the name of Chris. Tonight Chris happened to be working the phones and let it slip that they had just recieved some Xbox 360’s. Naturally, I informed Darin and we rushed over. Upon arrival Mike at electronics said he didn’t know anything about it, and some weren’t expected till “later this week”. I said, OH NO YOU DON’T. So with the cell phone my in-laws had gotten me for Christmas I called Chris back right there. He said oh yes a manager said they had some in stock. Then Mike calls up his dark lord sith in training, we’ll just call him evil mexican guy with a strut or emgwas. Emgwas goes to “look” for them and comes back empty handed. I call Chris back again, he is “unable to identify” which manager he talked to. Mike calls the manager on duty and she informs them of other places to look. Emgwas “looks” at these locations and comes back empty handed again. At one point I overheard Mike and Emgwas talking about where to look up the barcode, Mike said why don’t you call home and get the number off of yours.. Therefore, if you want an Xbox360, or any other hard to find cool electronics, just get a job at the Orem Walmart Electronic dept. As a side note, afterwards I bought some milk and in casual talk with the front register lady, I mentioned we got shafted out of our Xbox 360 even though it seemed everyone who worked at Walmart had one. The way she agreed so whole heartedly, I knew she wanted to tell me about the cover up but was being watched. DARN YOU WALMART ELECTRONIC DEPT EMPLOYEES!

It’s good to exercise (By Joy)

Tonight Pace and I went to the Smith Fieldhouse at BYU to exercise. We walked/jogged around the indoor track. I like it because it’s easy on the joints and it’s not 20 degrees in there like it is outside. The whole exercise thing is a good thing because if we don’t make it a point to do so, we are definitely considered “sedentary” in my book, because we don’t do much other exercise. At least when we were in school, we had the excuse that we had to go to and from school, and walk across campus to all our classes, and go running with people of the opposite sex just to try to impress them, etc. But now, that isn’t the case. I feel much happier when I get exercise in, especially because being prego like I am, my weight has skyrocketed anyway. But as you can see from this current photo of me here, I don’t look too bad… 😉 Please, everyone, please exercise, especially all those married people like us who are getting fat. Thank you.

New McBlog Features

Today I wanted to point out new features on McBlog. There are some new ways to stay on top of comments, I thought if I made it easier for everyone to see comments, then people would make more. On the right hand side bar there is a new box that captures the five most recent comments. And now under each post, there is a link that says expand comments, this way you can see if there have been any replies to what you said or just catch up on what’s going on without having to load the comment making page. Hope you enjoy the new features and I hope it will help generate comments from people I know read this but don’t ever comment (Dad, my inlaws, grandparents, etc)

Radiating Yourself

Have a cell phone? You’ll want to read this! Cnet just posted this interesting story ranking the radiation levels of cell phones. Is your cell phone on the list of the nations top 10? How bout the lowest 10? Values range from 1.55 as the highest (Motorola), and .12 from the lowest (Audiovox). Very interesting stuff to think about next time you shove that plastic case next to your head. Check it out here
