More Summer Friends
We met up with my old roommate Chandice to swim at a fancy pool at her in-laws’ vacation home! It was a beautiful place. I was glad Chandice contacted me & that we got to catch up! It’s handy to live in Utah, because old friends, roommates, mission companions, etc. are often passing through to visit family, go to General Conference, whatever! And we get to see them, too. We love it.
A whole bunch of kids whose names all begin with “C”! From left: Chase, Crissa, Cora, Caroline, Chase, & Charlotte.
Pace joined us for a few minutes after he got off work.
Chase & Cora especially got along well. Cora even started calling him “Domino.” I don’t know where that name came from, but it helped out since there are two Chases, and there was even another Chase swimming there, too!!
Independence Day 2012
We had a regular day of chores & relaxing at home for the 4th of July, then we went to Jason & Whitney’s place for a barbeque & chatting.
We went to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks, outside the stadium, of course. Provo was bustling, I tell ya. The fireworks didn’t start until 10:30, which was quite late for our kids! But it was a great spot to watch from and we didn’t park in any of the parking lots where they were charging $5/car.
We decided against doing any of our own fireworks since it’s so dry & hot this year, & there have been almost a dozen wildfires in Utah just in the last couple weeks.
We were in good company with Jason & Whitney & fam.
Chase perhaps had the best seat in the house! I love his creativity. He also showed us some awesome dance moves during the fireworks show.
We got home around 11:30pm. Crazy late for our kids, but it was a fun night!
I think I’ve mentioned more than once before that Charlotte is a very feminine little girl. She loves accessories & all things girly. Lately she even uses the words, “Um, I’d prefer…”
She often drapes all sorts of jewelry on her pink & purple unicorn Pillow Pet, whose name is Santa Rosa (just like everything else that she names). But when her unicorn has jewelry on, she is suddenly “Queeeeen Abella.”
When I let Charlotte have a couple of super cheap necklaces I got at Forever 21, she wanted to wear them just like this:
And she said her name was:
“Princess Queen Abella Charlotte Santa Rosa.”
Now THERE’S a royal name if I ever heard one!! We had to do a quick photo shoot of Her Highness.
I didn’t like the indoor light very much, so we went out to the front porch. It was a little too bright out there, but the light was better!
Sweet little girl.
