Just a reminder

Tom morning is General Conference. “The 176th Semiannual General Conference of the Church will convene in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City on Saturday and Sunday, September 30 – October 1, 2006. The Saturday general sessions will be held at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.; Sunday sessions will be held at 9:30 a.m. (which includes Music and the Spoken Word ) and 2:00 p.m. The general priesthood meeting will be held in the Conference Center on Saturday, September 30, at 6:00 p.m.

The First Presidency invites all members of the Church (active or not)* to participate by attending, viewing, or listening via television, radio, satellite, or Internet transmission at www.lds.org. Messages of inspiration and guidance will be delivered by the First Presidency, members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and other General Authorities and general officers of the Church.

Usual Sunday meetings on October 1 need not be held. In areas where only one Sunday session is broadcast, local leaders can either adjust meeting schedules or, where appropriate, rearrange the agenda of regularly scheduled meetings to permit members to listen to or watch conference proceedings.

A live, English-only video stream of each session of conference (except general priesthood meeting) will be available at www.byu.tv. Please note that the BYU-TV enhanced video player is designed for computers with the Windows operating system and a broadband Internet connection. Please also note that any time you click the BYU-TV link above, you will see the current BYU-TV video feed.” *Parenthesis Added

Home at last

Finally, we are back to the grind in UT. We had a GREAT time in NC (look for photos soon in McPhotos), had tons of fun and Chase seemed to develop a lot. We got home this afternoon, I’m tired, we flew in to Vegas last night, and drove back today. Just wanted to say hi before we went to bed.

Just a reminder

In case you forgot. The Providence High School team won the Carolina Ice Hockey Highschool Championships. I was the goalie… I just watched it again from the VHS that McGrandaddy taped. Thank you.

Oh and PS the Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup… just a coincidence? I think not!

While most of you are watching the BYU football game, I’m typing this with one hand while holding Chase! We wanted everyone to know we are moving to Springville next month (pending on no surprises from the inspection). We are SO excited! Chase can hardly wait to have his own room! We should be moving in th elast week of Oct and can hardly wait! Everyone is welcome to come vist us after that and bring a house warming gift. (or three) 🙂 Well Chase woke up now so it’s time to sstop writing, maybe we’ll add more later, like details of the house.

Sweet Sixteen!

Today is Jessica Terribilini’s 16th birthday. Happy birthday! For those of you who can’t believe she’s already 16 years old, I’m with you on that one. Jessica, you used to be a girl but now you have blossomed into a woman, like a flower that has just bloomed. I talked with Jess on the phone a couple days ago, and she said that she had 2 dates lined up for this weekend, and TMom just informed me that a boy was taking her out for smoothies today. So the boys are lining up, apparently! Way to go. This is a much different story than my own at that age… The boys weren’t exactly lining up… But, hey, I caught a good one in the end, so it’s all good. Jess, you must be sending out the right vibes or something. Anyway, happy birthday “baby sister”!

Last deep thought from Primary

Ahh yes, the last deep thought from primary for a while. We were finally released today from teaching the 4 & 5 year olds at church. The deep thought comes from Alex as he gave the prayer to start class: “Please bless us to die with joy”…… Amen

Cotton’s New Roomie

Today Cotton came home to find his stuff shuffled and new stuff in one of the rooms of the apt. Little did Cotton know his new roomie was also in the apt, just very well camouflaged. Yep Cotton got a new roomie today and doesn’t know anything about him, just keeps seeing more stuff pile up. My guess is he’s a sniper and loves sneaking around, what’s your guess?. We’re having a contest here to see who can find out / make up the most about Cotton’s roommate before he does. (And yes I found this picture by typing roommate into Google images!)

Monopoly Madness

Last night I joined in playing a game of Monopoly with some co-workers and mission buds. They play the game the way it should be played, very seriously. In addition to the printed rules, these rules are usually enforced: No talking deals unless it’s your turn BEFORE you roll, no payments after the next person rolls, if you remind someone to collect money, you pay in place of the person who landed on the property, no immunities, no paying for other players’ debt. And prob some others that I missed. This game was intense, and with seven of us still in the game after 3 hours of play, pride was on the line as to who went out first. With tons of flip flops and almost bankruptcies it was very fun. Around 1:15am it got to the point where Jason and Aaron were offering real money to people for their properties. Here’s how the final score broke down.

  1. Jason McGowan
  2. Aaron Wagner
  3. Pace McCulloch (new nikes)
  4. Stephan Taeger
  5. Ricky Butler ($20 cash and 20 bucks at Magleby’s Grill)
  6. Derek Batisti (free fake Rolex)
  7. Dustin “the Biggest Loser” Draper (Two tickets to BYU home game)

Considering my competition, I’m pretty happy with getting third (and some new shoes). Good game guys, I look forward to the rematch!
