Independence Day 2012
We had a regular day of chores & relaxing at home for the 4th of July, then we went to Jason & Whitney’s place for a barbeque & chatting.
We went to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks, outside the stadium, of course. Provo was bustling, I tell ya. The fireworks didn’t start until 10:30, which was quite late for our kids! But it was a great spot to watch from and we didn’t park in any of the parking lots where they were charging $5/car.
We decided against doing any of our own fireworks since it’s so dry & hot this year, & there have been almost a dozen wildfires in Utah just in the last couple weeks.
We were in good company with Jason & Whitney & fam.
Chase perhaps had the best seat in the house! I love his creativity. He also showed us some awesome dance moves during the fireworks show.
We got home around 11:30pm. Crazy late for our kids, but it was a fun night!
I think I’ve mentioned more than once before that Charlotte is a very feminine little girl. She loves accessories & all things girly. Lately she even uses the words, “Um, I’d prefer…”
She often drapes all sorts of jewelry on her pink & purple unicorn Pillow Pet, whose name is Santa Rosa (just like everything else that she names). But when her unicorn has jewelry on, she is suddenly “Queeeeen Abella.”
When I let Charlotte have a couple of super cheap necklaces I got at Forever 21, she wanted to wear them just like this:
And she said her name was:
“Princess Queen Abella Charlotte Santa Rosa.”
Now THERE’S a royal name if I ever heard one!! We had to do a quick photo shoot of Her Highness.
I didn’t like the indoor light very much, so we went out to the front porch. It was a little too bright out there, but the light was better!
Sweet little girl.
