Paint is my new best friend!

For my birthday, Pace was generous enough to give me a painted living room! That was the #1 thing I wanted, and that’s what I got! I absolutely love it. Thank you, Pace! What a great guy, huh?!?  The paint color is called Crisp Wheat, and while I didn’t realize it would turn out to be quite so "warm"-looking, I really LOVE the results. It looks like a whole new room and it really makes me want to do the whole house right now! (Haha, yeah right.) I also got a couple of cute shirts from Rachie and my parents gave me some clothes shopping money! I splurged and bought a VERY expensive silk and viscose shirt from Banana Republic. It looked great and fit perfectly when I put it on, so I decided to get it for the holidays (I’ve already worn it to two functions). Now, anyone who knows me would describe me as cheap, so this purchase was uncharacteristic of me, but it felt good to just splurge for once! Thanks for the great birthday, everyone! Alrighty, take a look at the pics, and be sure to click on each one to see more detail.

Big Fat Frosty

Happy December, everyone! It is a crazy, eventful, exciting time of year. Lots of birthdays, parties, gifts, Pace is about to start a new job, you know, the usual. šŸ˜‰ Fortunately for us, we’ve only had about three show days this season, which is very unlike Utah. But I love it, because I’m not too fond of the dreary, snowy days. One day I woke up and saw it was snowing, and for about one minute, I thought that was kind of exciting and cozy. But that feeling didn’t last longer than the one minute. Luckily Pace is a good, strong guy and is willing to shovel the snowy driveway so I don’t have to. He also decided to build a snowman on our neighbors’ doorstep last Saturday, which was humorous. He got some of the neighbor kids in on it, and they even provided limes for the eyes and a carrot for the nose. Cute, huh?! The neighbors ended up somehow transporting it over to stick it in the middle of our driveway. What fun!

Why every parent and child should own a mac

This morning, I saw the single coolest feature of any operating system ever. I went to see if any designers wanted to get breakfast with me. Tyler wanted to show me something he was doing on his G5 mac with the newest Leopard. He was in iChat, talking with his wife who was at his house also on a G5 with Leopard. He clicked a button and his desktop switched over to hers.
As in, just with that click (I’m sure he had setup stuff before) he was working on his computer at home, with access to his files at home and his processor. While his wife sat and watched him work. It was a lil laggy, and we have a T1 connection here at work.

BUT the point is, gone are the days of hours on hours trying to explain to your parents what they need to click on, just zap yourself over to there computer and do it for them while they watch. Course you will need high speed internet, and two brand new macs to get it done… or you could wait till Microsoft steals the idea and implements it into MSN messenger. Just thought I’d let you know that Apple redeemed themselves with me today with this single feature.

Share and share alike.

Thanks to iChat screen sharing, you and your buddy can observe and control a single desktop with iChat, making it a cinch to collaborate with a colleague, browse the web with a friend, or pick plane seats with your spouse. Share your own desktop or your buddyā€™s ā€” you both have control at all times. And iChat automatically initiates an audio chat when you start a screen sharing session, so you can talk things through while youā€™re at it.

Target and Circuit City near our house!

In case you missed it like I did… Southgate Shopping center was announced on the 15th of Nov. and will be bringing some classy retail boxes closer to home. Check out the full details which will require a few holes at Eastbay to be redesigned.

“Southgate will include 59 acres along the east frontage of I-15ā€“the western most portion of the Reserve at East Bay Golf Course. The center will include 459,000 square feet of new retail space and 225,000 square feet of office space. As a comparison, the Provo Towne Centre Mall has 800,000 square feet of leasable space.

Southgate will be developed by the Boyer Company. Boyer has letters of intent from several national retailers including Sports Authority, Petsmart, Circuit City and Target, which will be the anchor tenant of the center.”

Laptop War

Lets say you are in the market for a new laptop in the next 3 months. You have about 1500 bucks to spend. Lets discuss the options: PC or Mac, Dual Core Processor or single, RAM, Hard Drive, Wireless, Optical drive, and connectivity. So don’t waste your time looking at walmart. I’ve already narrowed the search down to the most popular & reliable laptops based on media hype.

It’s going to be Dell vs HP vs Apple

When comparing computer builds you want to try and get the apples as close to the apples as possible b/c some things can be named the same but have different speeds. For this test I will be detailed and put a star by something if it is faster than others or needs a comment.
All these computers have 160 gig hard drives, 2 gigs of RAM, Windows Vista 32 bit/Latest Mac OS, and have built in webcams at the top of the screen. The apple has a 13 screen while the other two have 15 in screens.
