Well, we have been busy here in our lil planet. After working everyday after work, till bed, the downstairs room is finally finished. That was the second most tiring two weeks of my life. Baby Chase still holds the record… Joy is very happy it is done, and is already reminding me what else is on my to-do list. No rest for the wicked I guess… McMom has been here a week and helped us out a ton already, Ty just came in yesterday. We saw Transformers today. It was good. Last night we went to the STADIUM of fffiiiirrreeee, Chase did really well until 15 mins before the firework show, so we left. Thanks to the Drapers for the tickets. This weekend we plan on playing some capture the flag, and shooting off fireworks, and hanging out. Aight I’m tired and going to bed.

Aint no kindergarden game
You are all invited this coming Friday to play Capture the flag!! Woo hoo, I haven’t played since Chase came into my schedule. And I’m really excited to play. This Friday I’m gathering a group of people to play at our local park. We will be playing Southern backwoods style, ie side 1 side 2 – no other boundaries, no flag sitting, and releasable jails. Full camo is recommended, but not required. My neighbor said he is bringing his night vision. We are gathering at 8:30pm if you want to play, please come.
Happy Birthday Cotton and other stuff
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COTTON!! Hope you enjoyed your math homework which is all you seemed to want to talk about… in other news, we now have another way to get a hold of us. We are using a very inexpensive VOIP phone at out house as a secondary line, it’s about $5 a month. I just got it working so give us a call so we can test it out. So now whoever is away from home will have the cell phone and whoever is home will answer this new phone… so to get a hold of who you want, try to figure out if that person is home or gone… that make sense? I am going to make Joy post the post she’s been talking about tomorrow. Email us to find out our new number. We also really, really love our new fire pit!
Happy Memorial Day
We had a busy day today. Started early with Chase as usual, then we went over to the coolest park I’ve seen. It had two fountains with water you could play in and one of those big swinging towers, like the swinging chairs at state fairs. So Chase had a blast playing in the water and working on his tan (video coming soon) Then we looked at tvs with Cotton and then dropped off Darin and Nada and went to pick up Rachel who is now back in UT after her traveling to South America and the dangerous edge of North America. On the way back from the airport we stopped in at Ikea, the new, and ginormous furniture/stuff store. I really liked it, 90% of their stuff was priced the way you’d think furniture should cost, not how it costs really. Like 99 bucks for a six drawer dresser. We had a great day, hope you did too. What’d ya’ll do?
Update on Our Lives
Well, this is what is going on with us, since we haven’t really covered this topic lately on our blog. Things are going pretty smoothly lately. We are excited that it feels like summertime! We’ve been doing some projects around the house, such as working on sanding our deck to remove all the peeling paint. It’s been tedious, but we’ve appreciated the helpers we’ve had over! Pace sealed the left side of the deck day before yesterday, and it looks pretty nice.
We bought season passes to Seven Peaks Waterpark (Rachel, Pace, Chase, and I) which will open this weekend. Yes, Pace will still be working full time in the summer, but the park stays open well into the evening, so sometimes we’ll meet there after he gets off work. It will be a lot of fun, especially because it has several kid-friendly areas for Chase and his little neighbor friends to play in.
Along with doing some websites on the side, Pace is currently working for a small company out of Novell. He enjoys it okay, and they seem to appreciate his sense of humor, too! I have taken on the job of customer service (answering phone calls and emails) for Pace and Jason’s website LDSstock.com. The website has been a very successful e-commerce endeavor of theirs. We get several orders a day, and I have been busier with it than I ever could have hoped ;).
I also enjoy spending a lot of time with a couple of our neighbors (Trena and Becky), and Chase loves playing with their kids more than anything, so that’s a plus. We have planned a few exciting camping trips with them this summer! Now all we need is a couple sleeping bags…
More exciting events are that Rachel will be returning to Utah this weekend, TMom and Jess will be visiting at the beginning of June and helping with the garden (yay!), then McMom arrives at the end of June, after which Tyler will join her here in July!
As for Chase, he has officially said good-bye to crawling. He loves walking and running and bumping his head about 15 times a day. He has been saying some new words, including “apple (pronounced “ap-pow”). He requests apples regularly, I think just because he’s excited that I know what he’s saying for once. He is a pretty happy kid as long as we play outside and with his friends for several hours a day. He still gets up in the night sometimes, but nothing like he used to, so that’s fine! He’s a good boy and we’re glad he’s so entertaining to have around!
So that’s the summary of our current events– thanks for reading!
More babies…
Well, some of you thought it would take longer… but we are pleased to announce that Darin and Nada are having a baby! Woo hooo…. haha tricked you, you thought we were having another baby… fat chance! Not till Chase is in high school. Congrats Darin and Nada, I hope it’s ok I posted it on the internet before you. The baby is due July 11th!!
General Update and more
Yesterday was a nice day, we finished off some steak that needed to be eaten before it went bad. Survivor was excellent, the Office wasn’t. And Joy scheduled a 30 min massage for me after work. SO I showed up to The Xango Spa where I waited for my masseuse to get me and instruct me. Well this guy from somewhere else in the world comes out and doesn’t really speak english, says his name and I don’t catch it. Anyway goes on to give me a massage that was nice. He didn’t really massage me as much as just rub my back, I think I’ve had more engaging massages from strangers on a crowded bus. Lets say I would rather get a massage from Joy herself. I think the important thing was interaction, the person has to make you feel comfortable and confident that they know what they are doing…
When I woke up this morning and I couldn’t turn my head to the left! Arg, so much pain… why why free massage must you have to have been so bad…
Other places of interest to mention: The Price is Right’s last live show will be May 16th, it’s was always my favorite to stay home sick and watch The Price is Right.
Also, Darin and Nada were in a car wreck, even though they haven’t mentioned it on their blog yet… a student from a nearby university wasn’t paying attention and plowed into the side of them scrapping the entire side of Nada’s car. Stay tuned to their blog for more info and any questions.
Chase is (almost) a Walking Boy!
Hooray for Chase! He took his first steps alone yesterday! It was so cute and exciting for us first time parents. At church Pace and I took the usual shifts of entertaining Chase out in the hallways during all of church (our little bundle of energy lasts about 2-9 minutes in each meeting and then one of us leaves the room with him for the rest of the hour so that the “Free Spirit”– as Uncle Ryan calls him–can crawl around and explore). But anyway, Pace told me that Chase had taken a step on his own during church, and I couldn’t believe it! Then later when we were at home, Pace motivated Chase with a chocolate cookie (something Chase loves but doesn’t get very often) and he walked a little! It was so funny. Later, Darin and Nada were over and he did it again, but mostly he just dives for the motivational food or sits down and starts crawling toward it. But he’s basically starting to WALK! So that’s exciting.
Chase is really cuter than ever! He is pretty expressive these days, and he says a few little words all the time (uh-oh, hi, bye-bye, bath, ma-ma, wy, eeee, etc.) He sat through an entire half hour movie today for the first time, a fun music DVD that Grandma McC gave him, and he barked and pointed every time he saw a dog in the movie. He also has recently starting signing the word “more” when he wants more food, thanks to Pace’s encouragement (we do a few baby sign language things with Chase to try to make communication easier in the near future). We love being with Chase and enjoying his personality (which is definitely more enjoyable in the daytime than it is in the middle of the night)… Sometimes I check on him when he’s sleeping and I look in that crib and think, “Whoa! He’s so big now!” I also have been exercising extra patience with him lately, mainly during those exhausting diaper changes and other situations that he doesn’t appreciate very much. But later in his life, he’ll THANK me for not letting him sit in a pile of poop all day… right?
We are excited to be heading out to NC on Tues afternoon. Can’t wait to moisturize our skin. It will be nice to hang out. An update on work for anyone who cares, it’s going well, I think I’ll like it here. (Yes I’m at work right now) it’s very laid back and a lot less stress as compared to owning your own. But don’t think I forget about you people who owe me money! I just ate at the Hard Drive Cafe, it wasn’t bad. The brownies aren’t as good as they look… but at least there are lots of options. I saw some guys playing soccer, I think I’ll join them since my security clearance doesn’t get me into the fitness room 🙁 I think it’s 15 bucks a month… anyway, Chase is still battling a cold or something that makes him very whiny. Joy will be very glad when someone else holds him most of the day.. lets see what else… there are no good movies on DVD out right now… anything new with you?
What’s new?
So a few things that are new and happening around here. Not in any particular order:
- Daybreak is on ABC.com
- Pace got a new full time job
- Dad T was on the front page of a Chinese paper
- Someone slipped us fake money.. or is it?
- LOST was Hitchcock like (post about lost below)
Now to expound on each…
