American Idol Fan?

So I just saw on iTunes that since the top 12 on American Idol, they are allowing the contestants to record the full song to sell. So if you like the minute and a half you see on the show (also for sale as video), get on iTunes for a full 3/4 minute version. Be careful though, live performance and studio recorded performance may vary a bit, check out Eleanor Rigby, the studio one is a lil slower and boring. Almost tempted to get Brooke’s Let It Be. Oh and check out Amanda’s picture, she looks like a vampire/witch.

Yackity yacking

Hello, is this thing on? Lets get some yapping going on here. It’s a blog not a billboard. Therefore here’s a topic: Television- entertaining, informational, or waste of time. Discuss.

I’ll start a piece on LOST, seeing as it is LOST night. I was pleasantly surprised with last weeks Penny distraction. It helped me realize that true love goes on forever as long as you fight a lot and act crazy. Meanwhile, tonight I hope we see some more info on where the group of others are, and why Locke can’t get any more island inspiration. Plus, was anyone else surprised at the shear shabbyness of the “not Penny’s boat” boat? I was expecting a high tech classy yacht kinda thing. Thoughts?

New tv to be back soon?

On “Fast Money” Michael Eisner annouced that the strike is over. “They’ve made a deal, they shook hands on a deal. The deal is going on Saturday to the constituents (for a vote)…I think it’s impossible that they turn it down. A deal has been made and (the writers) will be back to work reasonably soon!” At this point we do not know how this will effect the current sesaon of Lost. Keep your fingers crossed for a full 16 episode season.

LOST will continue Jan 31

January 31st tune in and set your DVRs b/c LOST is starting up again. I found two viral marketing sites that were advertised via a billboard in Portland.

flyoceanicair.com/

find815.com

I haven’t had time to actually listen to these since I found them at work. If it’s anything good, post a comment for me. Seems like they may be introducing another person who is looking for survivors.

Up to interpritation

So I really really want to win this contest that is coming up for the HGTV Green Dream House. My goal is to get as many entries as possible into the pot, I’m reading the rules as I can enter one time a day per email address I submit. Am I understanding that correctly or are they saying you can enter one time per day, the different emails don’t matter b/c it’s one per day with your name/email tied together so multiple emails with the same name tied to it is illegal? So my plan is to create a bunch of emails and then enter with each email each day, therefore increasing my odds per day based on how many emails I create.

“How to Enter: Beginning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on January 1, 2008 until 5:00 p.m. ET on February 19, 2008 (the “Sweepstakes Period”), you may enter the Home & Garden Television (“HGTV”) 2008 HGTV Dream Home GiveawaySM sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) in any of the following ways: (i) online by visiting the HGTV website (www.hgtv.com) (the “HGTV Website”) and completing the online entry form (limit one (1) online entry, per valid email address, per eligible person per day); or (ii) hand printing your name, complete address and phone number either on a postcard or on a separate piece of paper no larger than 8½ x 11 inches, and mailing the postcard or paper to HGTV Dream Home Giveaway, PO Box 51248, Knoxville, TN 37950. Entrants using US mail may enter as often as they wish. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by February 19, 2008 and received by February 25, 2008. Limit one (1) entry per envelope. Mechanically reproduced or hand-stamped entries or mailing labels or entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will not be accepted. Incorrect, illegible, and incomplete entries are void. These official rules are also available at the HGTV Website or by writing to HGTV Dream Home Giveaway – Rules Request, PO Box 52612, Knoxville, TN 37950.”

What do you think? Will I be dis-qualified?

WGA Strike Continues

I find this whole writers thing fascinating. Does every single writer belong to the WGA? why can’t shows find some college dropout writers to take individual jobs? Likewise fascinating and annoying will be the list of shows that get interrupted b/c of the strike, and those who won’t. For example, Jay Leno and David Letterman will be attempting to go back on air on Jan 2nd, without any writers… but then who is writing? someone has to be labeled the writer.. and then wouldn’t they be entitled to be on strike?

So here is the discussion, given no writers who will be the better entertainer? Jay Leno or David Letterman?

And if shows decide to go on without writers and people like it… then there won’t be any “writers”.. discuss

A bit of LOST

Just found these mobile clips of completely useless LOST scenes, new content that fits in at some unknown time. But who knows, maybe one time there will be something juicy in one of em.

Watch the LOST clips

It is also rumored that the writers strike will cause a pause in the season, just as if it were a normal season. It completely destroys the layout of they were going for of uninterrupted LOST. See all you writers and studios out there… hurry up and play nice! Otherwise we might start going back to the movies.

NHL Network…. YES!

The suits that control tv content have favored us by announcing the NHL network. Rumored to only be available in HD, you can count on this one being on the same tier as the NFL network. So if you get that one, get excited! For the rest of us… it’s business as usual.
It seems these specific networks are gaining followings.
Which ones would you create? The Lacrosse Network?
