A Little Update

Well, Chase has been considerably better, in case anyone was wondering. For several days after the flu he was fine, but then throwing up in the late evening times. He’s been all clear for a couple of days, but just this morning he woke up quite early and threw up. So…. I called the pediatrician’s office and the nurse said it’s totally common, but if he continues vomiting for more than 2 weeks, I should bring him in to see the doctor. Wow, 2 weeks? Hm, interesting. Meanwhile, he’s seeming relatively healthy, but is very clingy and wants me to hold him every second. For that reason, I just got our Christmas cards all mailed out today! In other news, my family (except for Ryan and Tina) is coming tonight, to spend the week with us and Rach! It’s been great weather, with no snow for a while, but right now it’s hailing, so I think the storm came in just for them! Happy Holidays!

Below are a few recent photos; as you can see, Chase does NOT smile for the camera!

First Day at work

So today I started at Vital Smarts, and it looks like I’m joining the dark side again. I walked into my amazingly large cubicle to find a brand new iMac sitting there. I currently long for a two button mouse… The day was filled with meeting people and forms and meetings. I’m scheduled to take Crucial Conversation training all day Wed and Thursday. So next time you see me, I’ll be better at expressing my feelings. All in all, looks like this is going to be a great place to work. And now I’m really tired, seeing how Chase waited till Midnight to throw up last night… and the nurse says it isn’t DR worthy till it’s been 2 weeks of throwing up… arg.

Please Santa

Santa, I’d like a car that not only doesn’t make me pay for gas every two weeks, but actually makes me 4,000 a year. Oh here’s one!

Need techie stuff?

Looking for a great deal on a new anything techy? Find your nearest Compusa and count to ten, by then it should have it’s going out of business sales printed up in your newspaper. I’ll be headed to ours looking for anything ebay worthy.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Mexican retail and telephone baron Carlos Slim will close out Comp USA’s remaining US stores and liquidate all the remaining assets including the brick and mortars, after investing close to $2 billion into the business in the last 8 years.

Paint is my new best friend!

For my birthday, Pace was generous enough to give me a painted living room! That was the #1 thing I wanted, and that’s what I got! I absolutely love it. Thank you, Pace! What a great guy, huh?!?  The paint color is called Crisp Wheat, and while I didn’t realize it would turn out to be quite so "warm"-looking, I really LOVE the results. It looks like a whole new room and it really makes me want to do the whole house right now! (Haha, yeah right.) I also got a couple of cute shirts from Rachie and my parents gave me some clothes shopping money! I splurged and bought a VERY expensive silk and viscose shirt from Banana Republic. It looked great and fit perfectly when I put it on, so I decided to get it for the holidays (I’ve already worn it to two functions). Now, anyone who knows me would describe me as cheap, so this purchase was uncharacteristic of me, but it felt good to just splurge for once! Thanks for the great birthday, everyone! Alrighty, take a look at the pics, and be sure to click on each one to see more detail.

Big Fat Frosty

Happy December, everyone! It is a crazy, eventful, exciting time of year. Lots of birthdays, parties, gifts, Pace is about to start a new job, you know, the usual. 😉 Fortunately for us, we’ve only had about three show days this season, which is very unlike Utah. But I love it, because I’m not too fond of the dreary, snowy days. One day I woke up and saw it was snowing, and for about one minute, I thought that was kind of exciting and cozy. But that feeling didn’t last longer than the one minute. Luckily Pace is a good, strong guy and is willing to shovel the snowy driveway so I don’t have to. He also decided to build a snowman on our neighbors’ doorstep last Saturday, which was humorous. He got some of the neighbor kids in on it, and they even provided limes for the eyes and a carrot for the nose. Cute, huh?! The neighbors ended up somehow transporting it over to stick it in the middle of our driveway. What fun!

Why every parent and child should own a mac

This morning, I saw the single coolest feature of any operating system ever. I went to see if any designers wanted to get breakfast with me. Tyler wanted to show me something he was doing on his G5 mac with the newest Leopard. He was in iChat, talking with his wife who was at his house also on a G5 with Leopard. He clicked a button and his desktop switched over to hers.
As in, just with that click (I’m sure he had setup stuff before) he was working on his computer at home, with access to his files at home and his processor. While his wife sat and watched him work. It was a lil laggy, and we have a T1 connection here at work.

BUT the point is, gone are the days of hours on hours trying to explain to your parents what they need to click on, just zap yourself over to there computer and do it for them while they watch. Course you will need high speed internet, and two brand new macs to get it done… or you could wait till Microsoft steals the idea and implements it into MSN messenger. Just thought I’d let you know that Apple redeemed themselves with me today with this single feature.

Share and share alike.

Thanks to iChat screen sharing, you and your buddy can observe and control a single desktop with iChat, making it a cinch to collaborate with a colleague, browse the web with a friend, or pick plane seats with your spouse. Share your own desktop or your buddy’s — you both have control at all times. And iChat automatically initiates an audio chat when you start a screen sharing session, so you can talk things through while you’re at it.
