PLEASE DO NOT!

If any reader of McBlog pays for an iPad, I will consider myself a failure. PLEASE DO NOT BUY AN IPAD! In case you had a house full of kids to distract you today, Apple announced a giant iPod touch, called the iPad. Pricing starts at $499 for the 16GB version… WHAT!? and is also available in 32 and 64 GB versions. Ok so if you were about to buy an ipod touch or about to throw 500 bucks into the fireplace, then go ahead and buy an iPad.

You shouldn’t buy the iPad for a HUGE number of reasons, but here are a few: no features, no amazing hardware, no expandable memory, no camera, no background apps; your cell phone is probably better equipped. Ok I’m just too annoyed to discuss the details of this thing. Here’s where I end, things you could buy besides an iPad, and still spend about the same:

  1. A useful tablet
  2. This brand new Laptop
  3. Star Trek TNG series and $100 extra
  4. This car

Apple, you have fallen far from making an awesome product. Your greed in marketing a sleek piece of crap that could have been built last year enrages me! I hope you die a slow painful AT&T network speed death in your mobile sector.

Yummy in my tummy

So I tasted the most amazing cupcake in my life around October. It was a spice cake with some tasty frosting. When I took a bite I thought an angel had just given birth in my mouth. (Just kidding, angels don’t give birth) It was really good, luckily I was eating it at a Halloween party so I got to eat 3 more. Just a few months later, Amber has a little business up and running. Now you have a chance to win some. Check out the details. Good luck!

Anticipation

Lately, Chase has been obsessed with his upcoming birthday. I guess that since Christmas is over with, he has to focus on the next major life-changing event. Yesterday he insisted that I write up a guest list for his birthday party. (I guess he gets to have a friend party again this year?) So he started naming every kid he knows, even kids who I know would have zero desire to attend (such as the cute 10-year-old girl next door). But I jotted down every name he came up with, and when all was said and done, 29 names made up that guest list. Hm, luckily we have time to narrow it down quite a bit! Especially because his birthday is not until April 14th.

Probably the greatest

Ok so two geeky posts in one day, I know… at least Amber is nice enough to comment on my lame techie things. Thanks Amber!

So I’m a big fan of HowItShouldHaveEnded.com, they make short cartoon spoofs about how movies should end if script writers had common sense. My absolute favorite of all time is a newer one I just watched, about Transformers 2.

Watch it now, and check out their other ones, Lord of the Rings is pretty hilarious too.

Here is the Twilight one b/c it had embed code, and the others didn’t… I never saw this movie, but I still chuckled at this.

Great Weekend

What a fun time we had this weekend! First off, thanks to Jess & Casey for taking Chase to Jump on It on Friday afternoon. What a great break for Joy! Then Chase and I checked out the auto show in Sandy on Saturday morning. Joy and Charlotte chilled at the house. Chase really liked the sports cars, and the blue Jeep with no doors. I told him he could sit in any car he wanted to, and he picked the VW Jetta, he liked the ones with sunroofs. But when he saw the yellow Dodge Viper, he LOVED that one. He even told me to take it home. We also heard the Toyota girls sing the Prius song.. which was weird. All in all a great way to kill time.

Then we all came back grabbed the girls and met up with Grandaddy, GG and Ty up at Soldier Hollow. They have converted a little ski hill to a tubing hill. It was a blast! Check out the photos since they are worth 1000 words each.

Mobile Mama

We’re “entering the head wound stage” (as my mom likes to call it), because Charlotte can walk now! She doesn’t seem extremely interested in walking rather than crawling, but she does it occasionally. She loves walking with her bottle in both hands, and also doing some thigh-burning squats while she’s standing around.

I love the goofy facial expressions this little girl makes, like when she scrunches her face up then puffs through her nose, or when she sticks her tongue out really far (just ask Aunt Jessica about that one)! Charlotte’s main words are still “uh-oh” and “dad,” and she says “bap” for bath. Lately she really despises diaper changes and veggies. She has also been a busy monkey, climbing things whenever she can, and just chillin’ up there for a while.

Charlotte got to move into Chase’s big car seat after she turned one, so Chase got a booster seat! Luckily, it only cost $25 so it wasn’t a big deal. (Notice that Chase had wrapped the seatbelt around the back in this photo, but the car wasn’t moving yet!)

Now when we look in the rearview mirror, it seems like we have “two kids” rather than a kid and a baby! But Charlotte is certainly still a baby. I adore her sweet little face!

We are still pretty sleepless, but we have accepted it for now, and even have a sense of humor about it. Tonight Chase was screaming in bed a little while after he had gone to sleep, and Pace started singing a little song about how we love our kids, and how our kids hate sleep… And we both started cracking up about it! He always makes me laugh!

A Bit of Cabin Fever

I haven’t blogged lately… I think I got out of the habit when we were in CA and haven’t felt much motivation to resume. Also, we’ve seemed to have some different types of colds around here, so regular life was on hold for a bit.

Last winter, I was basically prideful about how we seemed “immune” to getting sick, because we didn’t have any problems at all. But this winter, I’ve been humbled… While we’ve been sick, we’ve pretty much stayed home, inside… which makes for some craziness around here. But I am very grateful for my helpful husband and also a great Mom-in-law who has been over several times to save the day!!! Even though I feel like kind of a wimp, it’s sooooo nice to be “rescued” sometimes!

Help our store out

Hey, want to help out the store Joy and I own, but you don’t want to buy anything.. that’s understandable. We’ll take a link instead!

Use one of the links below to link to us from your website:

<a href="http://www.ldsstock.com/ctr-rings/" title="My favorite place for CTR rings">CTR Rings</a>

<a href="http://www.ldsstock.com/lds-artwork/" title="Awesome LDS artwork, at an amazing price!">LDS Artwork</a>

Respectively this generates a link like this: CTR Rings or this: LDS Artwork

Ok, but why? Well, while we would love you to buy stuff, truth is, we wouldn’t charge you very much b/c you are our friends, and we’d have to pay taxes, bleh! If you put a link like this on your website that has the text “CTR Rings” or “LDS Artwork” and then google sees that, google says hey, LDSstock.com must be a good place for CTR rings and LDS Art. Then it moves LDSstock.com up the search result list when people search for those words. Helping us move up the search list is the best gift you could give us.

Oh I saw your site listed when I searched for CTR rings, so I clicked on it a bunch of times! Isn’t that great!?

No. No it’s not. One of two things happened, either you clicked on my ad a bunch of times, costing me money. Or you clicked our site a bunch of times and then didn’t go to another page, so google thinks you didn’t like the site. Either way, you didn’t help me.

So if you were wondering lately what you could do to help us out.. I’ve just answered your question! If you are really feeling generous you’d tell you friends about LDSstock.com, or even write a whole blog post about how awesome CTR rings and LDS artwork from LDSstock.com are.

Just FYI, THANKS!

UPDATE:

As requested I made some image links, respectively:

LDSstock.com

LDSstock.com

Let me know if you want a different size for your sidebar/content, I’d be happy to whip one up.
And here is the code to use one of these:

<a href="http://www.ldsstock.com" title="CTR rings, LDS art, and other LDS products at 10% or more off retail"><img src="http://www.ldsstock.com/badges/ldsstock125.png" alt="LDSstock.com" height="125" width="125" style="border:2px solid #3C4A64;" /></a>
