So I’m headed to the allergist today. I’m pretty excited, even though I’m sure he’ll tell me I’m allergic to my favorite things, ice cream, cheese, butter, and fun. I’m headed in and I’m expecting to get poked a dozen or more times in the back/arm/personal area, or where ever he wants to find out what I’m allergice to. Has anyone sane done this? It’s crazy to me.. but I’ve had a runny/stuffy nose for the last 2 months and I hate it. I’m going to a DR who practices the SILT method, so instead of allergy shots every 2 weeks for 5 years to help you build your immune, you drop two drops under your tongue each day for 400 years. I’ve give you more details after my appointment. So what do you think? Waste of time and money? Did it work for you?

McPhotos is back!
I’m happy to announce that the previously shoddy updated McPhotos has been updated. We are now grabbing all our photos from Picasa for viewing from here. It’s very cool! A big shout out to Igor for creating such an awesome plugin. If you haven’t been recently, check out McPhotos again, give it a minute to load. Let me know what you think!
Retirement
Tonight I was thinking about how my “well” of church skirts is getting a little dry… AKA I need Rachel and/or Jessica to go through their skirts and decide which ones they feel like donating to me… And I was thinking about 2 skirts in particular that I haven’t been able to zip up all the way for several years. Then I realized that those 2 skirts are really OLD. Then I realized that I bought them back in 10th grade (nearly 10 years ago), and they actually used to fit me. Then I realized that it’s probably time for the 2 old fogies to retire, eh. Or maybe I should just keep them until I become elderly, just for the fun of it. So what’s the oldest item sitting in YOUR closet?
Too early for walking?
NHL playoffs
Since you probably won’t hear about it on the news, or on the homepage of ESPN.com… I’m here to tell you the FINAL 4 teams have fought their way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Once again one of those teams is the Carolina Hurricanes! They will be playing the Pittsburgh Penguins and it should be a serious fight. I wouldn’t miss a single game if I were you, unless you have kids, then you’ll probably miss a lot of games.
Meet “Dr. Rachie”
…That’s my nickname for her, even though she’s not exactly a doctor or dentist. But close enough– Rachel (one of my sisters) will soon be a dental hygienist. Isn’t she so cool?!? She is working very hard and I admire/envy her for studying something that will get her into a practical, secure, and lucrative career right after she’s out of school.
I forgot to post these photos about a month ago when I took Chase in to Rachel’s school for a cleaning. It turned out to be more of a “brushing” because he didn’t want to conform (surprise, surprise). But it was worth the trip just to see how utterly sexy/sleek/intimidating Rachel looked in her white lab coat (not to mention her goggle things).
SO Windows 7 is coming out this holiday season, and I have to say… It’s pretty cool. Now by cool I mean I have found 2 things I really like. First and most important: Windows Media Center. The single reason Windows is still a good operating system, tweaks and updates all around on this one. Trust me if you’re looking for a cheap DVR, upconverting DVD player, media streamer this is it. And it shows the time while you’re watching tv so no more getting sucked in till 11:30pm Joy. SECOND, you can link your live account with your windows account. This link gives you access to shared resources automatically. For example I just installed windows 7 here at work, I linked, then my pictures, music, and recorded tv from home popped up. I watched a couple minutes of curious george just b/c I could. Way to go Microsoft!
Get Windows 7 RC1 for yourself (good till next June)
Not to Brag, BUT….
