Today Pace, Chase and I were were leaving to go to Target in one car, while TMom and Jessica were in their separate rental car. Those two have been visiting, which has been fun, and they were going to leave after the Target trip. Pace and I were a couple blocks ahead of TMom and Jess, and we waited at the long light on the corner of Freedom and 100 South. Chase was fussy, so I climbed into the back seat and gave him his pacifier. The light finally turned green and as we were driving along, the people in a car on our right ran a red light and plowed into the front right corner of the beloved Camry. So it’s kind of messed up now, needless to say, but fixable. Interestingly enough, there was a policeman in his police car right behind us, so Pace got the info exchange stuff taken care of with him pretty quickly. Most importantly, everyone was okay, even little tiny Chase. I don’t want to think about what may have happened if the car had hit the side where I was sitting, by Chase in the back seat. I ended up driving the Camry home while Mom and Jess took Pace to work. I put Chase down for a nap and just kissed his little head and was grateful to be cuddling him. Things like this cause me to think about how precious life is and that we need to be constantly thankful and improving ourselves and our relationships, because you never know what could happen.

Joy and I’s anniversary
We are so excited to be a part of history. For our 2nd Ann. Joy and I are going to Paris to be some of the first people to experience dinner in the sky! Check it out, anyone want to come with us? Gino, mom said you can come with us for your honeymoon. 🙂 I think it’s looks like tons of fun.
PS. Remember the tube that was so big it doubled as a kite? They were banned from Lake Powell b/c two people died when they fell off mid flight.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YA’LL
Happy Birthday Rachel! Who turns the legal age to marry without her parents permission today. And happy birthday to Tracy in two days; who turns the legal age to actually tell her boyfriend how she feels about him. Congrats, hope ya’ll have a great bday!
Tastes Like Chicken
Today I was eating chicken, and while doing so, the image of a dead chicken popped into my mind, and it tasted really gross to me at that moment. I don’t recommend doing that while eating chicken or any type of meat.

Must See TV
This is well worth the wait in download time. We finally caught Chase in a talkative mood. Of course as soon as we did, the battery died! HAHA
Check it out in quicktime (7MB) or .avi (10MB). If enough people complain I’ll make a lower res version. He’s SO cute!
The Bottle Battles
First of all, anyone who is traumatized by such words as “breastmilk” and “breastfeeding”, please stop reading now. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Okay, now that we only have the real troopers reading this… Chase doesn’t do well with bottle-feeding. Not that I am planning on stopping the breastfeeding thing anytime soon, but every once in a great while, we can’t or don’t want to stop everything for feeding time, every two hours or less. Therefore, when Chase was about 2 months old, we tried feeding him a formula bottle to see how that would work out, and he made a pickle-face and cried when he tasted that fake stuff. Next I pumped a bottle, which takes forever and is no small feat for me. Chase worked diligently to extract milk from that thing, but didn’t seem to get one bit, and wasn’t fond of our attempts to just squirt milk into his mouth from the bottle. So then I figured the nipple hole wasn’t big enough, so I cut an “x” hole in the tip, and plenty of milk came out of there. Bingo– A bit of freedom!
So a few nights ago, Pace and I decided to be adventurous and go on a “long date”, meaning that we went to dinner and a movie (Superman Returns, which was okay but too long). Cousin Tiffany Keck was kind enough to watch Chase during that time, and did a great job. I had prepared the “x hole” bottle beforehand, with pumped milk for when he would get hungry. Pace and I had a nice date together, although most of the time I was wondering to myself whether Chase was taking that bottle. When we went to pick up Chase afterwards, Tiffany said that he had been fine but hadn’t drunk even an ounce of the bottle. So I feel that in the future we will just have to do dinner OR a movie, and make sure that the movie is less than 2 hours at that… A friend of ours said that they had to try several types of bottles on her kid, and then there was finally one that he would take… Maybe by the time we’re through having kids, we’ll have figured this out.
Pace’s Predictions
I’m predicting a wireless ipod in Santa’s sled this year. Well me and most everyone else on the net. Check out this article on Apple Insider that talks about Apple’s plans to release the second half of 06. Also, Mac Rumors has an awesome product tracking page that monitors the product cycle of popular Mac products. It’s very useful to check before investing in your overpriced PC. So for any of you iPod owners who are thinking about upgrading, just hold your britches! The new wireless feature will be well worth the wait. Pace promises!
