I just had a thought as I was washing my face before “retiring” for the night (well, at least until Chase wakes up again, anyway). But my thought was about facewash and other soaps. Pace and I just use hand soap to wash our faces. We use dish soap to wash our hands when in the kitchen. I use hair conditioner to shave my legs. Are these foreign concepts, I wonder? I mean, if nothing else, I’ll just have softer, shinier leg hairs as they grow back, right? 😉 I think that Pace and I partly do all this to save money, but also because I despise having too much stuff all over the place and just choose to simplify. So back to the facewash thing, is facewash really necessary for a semi-clean face, or is it just another money-sucking scheme? I had some acne as a teenager, and none of the facewashes seemed to do a thing. Now, even though I just use plain old hand soap to clean my face, I rarely get zits (probably more due my current hormones, but that’s another story for another day). Besides, facewash containers always claim to be miracle-workers, saying that they clean “deep down to the pores” and I don’t know about everyone else, but my pores are just right there on my facial surface, not deep down anywhere. When I was in Costa Rica, I wanted to buy some facewash, and went to two different stores just to see many store clerks’ confused faces as I asked about it and proceeded to explain what it was exactly. They would always just eventually direct me to the body wash… I felt somewhat panicked at the time, and I think I later found some kind of cleansing face lotion or something weird like that… But it made me think, why do we use facewash? And why don’t we just use one soap for everything, or at least one kitchen soap and one bathroom soap, rather than having dish soap, hand soap, facewash, body wash, body soap, shampoo, leg shaving gel….. etc etc etc?
Well, yesterday we revisited our soon to be house in the city that will remain un-named so Joy doens’t worry. If you want to see still pictures of the inside, check out McPhotos. After visiting again, it seemed the bathrooms were a lil bigger than I remembered, but the living room was smaller than I remembered; interesting how that happens! We are going to have so much fun being in a house!
Stay tuned for video (of our house in Canada ;)) that will be coming soon.

Just a reminder
Tom morning is General Conference. “The 176th Semiannual General Conference of the Church will convene in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City on Saturday and Sunday, September 30 – October 1, 2006. The Saturday general sessions will be held at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.; Sunday sessions will be held at 9:30 a.m. (which includes Music and the Spoken Word ) and 2:00 p.m. The general priesthood meeting will be held in the Conference Center on Saturday, September 30, at 6:00 p.m.
The First Presidency invites all members of the Church (active or not)* to participate by attending, viewing, or listening via television, radio, satellite, or Internet transmission at www.lds.org. Messages of inspiration and guidance will be delivered by the First Presidency, members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and other General Authorities and general officers of the Church.
Usual Sunday meetings on October 1 need not be held. In areas where only one Sunday session is broadcast, local leaders can either adjust meeting schedules or, where appropriate, rearrange the agenda of regularly scheduled meetings to permit members to listen to or watch conference proceedings.
A live, English-only video stream of each session of conference (except general priesthood meeting) will be available at www.byu.tv. Please note that the BYU-TV enhanced video player is designed for computers with the Windows operating system and a broadband Internet connection. I wanted to let ya’ll know what the deal was with the champion belt in the right column at the bottom. It’s the official ‘Fight Night 3 ‘ on Xbox360 champion belt. It will stay on display on this blog until I am dethroned as the Champ. If someone beats me I will give them the belt. My current record is an amazing 2-1 against Darin. This earned me braggin rights (which I WILL use Darin) and the Championship belt. THANK YOU.
PS check out this fun game. Is it fun enough to be added to the Other stuff links?
Highlights
Well, it looks like I might NOT be getting my hair highlighted. Thanks to those of you who have voted at our little voting station. I have been debating for a few months now about this issue. You have swayed me, at least for the moment. Why have I been wanting highlights, you ask? Well first of all, I normally get natural highlights from spending time out in the summer sun, but this summer I didn’t stay outside much at all because I’ve heard that babies (ie Chase) can get sunburned quite easily even with sunscreen. So my hair color is quite dark, I feel. Also, I am tired of the same general color I’ve had my whole life; I want a change, and also I like the look of lighter hair with lighter skin like mine. Plus, I think blonde hair is stunning but there’s no way I would ever completely dye my hair, and I wouldn’t look good blonde anyway. But hey, let’s face it, when a guy sees a blonde girl from a distance, he generally thinks she’s hot even if he can’t really see her face, but a brunette doesn’t catch his eye quite as easily. At least that’s what I have observed. Not that I’m trying to impress guys, just my husband, but maybe he would like my hair better with highlights even though he claims he wouldn’t. I think he just doesn’t want me to spend money on it and be stuck in a never-ending cycle of paying for touch-ups every 2 months or so, even if it is just at a local beauty school. But the money issue really does affect my current decision, since we’re moving and I would rather spend that money on things for the house. So anyway, for now it’s a no-no. But we’ll see what I think tomorrow. Let’s hear some comments from anyone who actually read through this post!
