Just kidding. I guess if you don’t have any local Maverick gas stations or don’t watch tv, you might not get that corny line. But regardless, I would like to post a review on the fat free frozen yogurt at Maverick. It is DIVINE! They have different flavors at different locations, but at the one near our place, they currently have Chocolate, New York Cheesecake, Mint, and Georgia Peach. That last one is my favorite, even though I haven’t even tried the other flavors. But a cone of it is 89 cents, on sale this week for 79 cents (woohoo)! The best part is that you help yourself, so you can mix flavors, and pile it as high as you feel appropriate! The only thing is that you have to eat it really quickly especially if you get a foot-high cone of it, or else it will melt all over your car. So even if you do nothing else today, go try the frozen yogurt at Maverick–it’s delicious and nutritious (well, kind of)!
Monday Morning, Again
For those of you avid McBlog readers, you may have noticed a slight hiccup in the flow of things. Our server decided to restore itself to Friday and not save any comments, uploads, or posts from Saturday and Sunday 🙁 Please excuse the uncontrollable error. SO now I will repost the Monday Morning video that was supposed to be here this morning to brighten your week, but instead is here this afternoon to brighten your week.
Sharpie Irony
Rachel’s comment about coincidences reminded me of one that happened to me a couple days ago. I was thinking about Sharpie markers and how much more convenient they would be to use if they were retractable. Those of us who constantly have a baby on the hip need things like that to be accessible with one hand only. There aren’t enough hands available to remove the cap, use the pen, find the cap again, and put the cap back on. So I decided that I would invent a retractable Sharpie marker and that I would become very rich. However, not even 2 hours later, I saw a commercial on TV for the retractable Sharpie! I was excited, despite my dashed hopes of being a world-famous inventor. But I guess I’ll just have to settle for knowing that I’m psychic.

Long live HGTV
I love HGTV (Home and Garden Television, which is on channel 63 for us). It’s a channel that Pace and I can both enjoy, since they often do home improvement projects and other manly things in addition to the generally more feminine things like decorating. When we move into the townhouse, however, we won’t be able to watch it anymore. Sad. We will be getting more basic cable since we will then actually have to pay for it, unlike now when it’s on the landlord. But that’s okay, at least I can still look at stuff on the HGTV website, where they have great ideas and tips for everything from cleaning tips to advice on real estate issues. Check it out if any of this sparks your interest!

Best of Utah (5 out of 5 stars)
As part of a new area of McBlog, we are going to have reviews of places Joy and I eat at, movies we see, and anything else we feel like rating. Tonight, the award for Best BBQ in Utah goes out to Ryan Gardners home style BBQ in Spanish Fork UT. HOLY MOLEY! We ate some of the finest, juiciest, most tender Hickory BBQ things I had ever eaten. And you can tell they were good b/c I don’t even know what part of the animal it was and I still enjoyed it! Thanks Ryan for opening my eyes to slow charcoal cooking BBQ. I would highly reccomend paying Ryan 20 bucks to get him to cook at your next party. He has to earn enough money to pay off the wireless electronic meat thermometer which he claims is one of his secrets. His grilled pineapple is pretty dang good too, but Ryan I think you need to figure out something to grill that can have chocolate on it. The pineapple should be a side with the meat. 😉 Thanks for the great food!
El accidente
Today Pace, Chase and I were were leaving to go to Target in one car, while TMom and Jessica were in their separate rental car. Those two have been visiting, which has been fun, and they were going to leave after the Target trip. Pace and I were a couple blocks ahead of TMom and Jess, and we waited at the long light on the corner of Freedom and 100 South. Chase was fussy, so I climbed into the back seat and gave him his pacifier. The light finally turned green and as we were driving along, the people in a car on our right ran a red light and plowed into the front right corner of the beloved Camry. So it’s kind of messed up now, needless to say, but fixable. Interestingly enough, there was a policeman in his police car right behind us, so Pace got the info exchange stuff taken care of with him pretty quickly. Most importantly, everyone was okay, even little tiny Chase. I don’t want to think about what may have happened if the car had hit the side where I was sitting, by Chase in the back seat. I ended up driving the Camry home while Mom and Jess took Pace to work. I put Chase down for a nap and just kissed his little head and was grateful to be cuddling him. Things like this cause me to think about how precious life is and that we need to be constantly thankful and improving ourselves and our relationships, because you never know what could happen.
Joy and I’s anniversary
We are so excited to be a part of history. For our 2nd Ann. Joy and I are going to Paris to be some of the first people to experience dinner in the sky! Check it out, anyone want to come with us? Gino, mom said you can come with us for your honeymoon. 🙂 I think it’s looks like tons of fun.
PS. Remember the tube that was so big it doubled as a kite? They were banned from Lake Powell b/c two people died when they fell off mid flight.
