A Chocola-tastic Idea

If you are like me and you have trouble disciplining yourself when it comes to chocolate goodness, here is a little tidbit I have learned. Basically we have a lot of chocolate candy still left over from Christmas, and when it is just sitting there in the pantry, I eat it all day. I open the pantry door, and that is what I see and it seems tasty, so that is what I grab (rather than granola or something). I’m not too worried about gaining weight and such, but I am worried about eating chocolate all day and nothing else!

So anyway, one time Pace was trying to hide all our sweets from Chase so he wouldn’t see it, and Pace also wouldn’t tell ME where it was hidden. So naturally, I had to seek it out, and I eventually found it in a closet. But the thing is, I kept it there because it wasn’t quite so accessible! So this is the idea: You don’t have to have NO candy in your house, because that would be terribly torturous. Just put it in a spot where it’s not staring you in the face, and it’s not as likely to be consumed on such a regular basis. Hm, I think I’ll go have some chocolate now.

Chase’s Hair

I have wanted to style Chase’s hair for a while now, but it’s always been so thin that when I put gel in there, it just "deflates" and after about an hour it looks as though no gel was ever there. So Rachel snagged some of Gino’s hair glue stuff when they were here, and it worked great in Chase’s hair! Thanks Rachie! I love the look, so I bought some. I mean, it only takes about 10 seconds to do… What do you think about the little guy’s hair? Baby hair look or big boy hair look? I mean he IS a big boy; he’s almost 2 now! We’ll probably just "style" his hair when we go out and stuff anyway, but I just wondered about everyone else’s opinion concerning this important issue…

“Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam”

Yes, I thought that I was done with Sunbeams when I “graduated” from that primary class, but no. I am now a Sunbeam teacher! I’ll admit, it’s rather fun. I love the cutie little kids, and I get to be overly animated and goofy during my time at church! Lucky. I just have to chug down a 2-liter bottle of caffeinated drink before our 9 am church, and I’m good. 😉 haha just kidding. But really, I think this is a good change even though I was reluctant at first. I will miss those Beehive girls a lot! I was only with this large group for one short year, and I enjoyed that calling a lot. Especially because the girls had this idea in their heads that I was cool or something (in spite of the minivan). That’s always nice. 🙂

LOST will continue Jan 31

January 31st tune in and set your DVRs b/c LOST is starting up again. I found two viral marketing sites that were advertised via a billboard in Portland.

flyoceanicair.com/

find815.com

I haven’t had time to actually listen to these since I found them at work. If it’s anything good, post a comment for me. Seems like they may be introducing another person who is looking for survivors.

Up to interpritation

So I really really want to win this contest that is coming up for the HGTV Green Dream House. My goal is to get as many entries as possible into the pot, I’m reading the rules as I can enter one time a day per email address I submit. Am I understanding that correctly or are they saying you can enter one time per day, the different emails don’t matter b/c it’s one per day with your name/email tied together so multiple emails with the same name tied to it is illegal? So my plan is to create a bunch of emails and then enter with each email each day, therefore increasing my odds per day based on how many emails I create.

“How to Enter: Beginning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on January 1, 2008 until 5:00 p.m. ET on February 19, 2008 (the “Sweepstakes Period”), you may enter the Home & Garden Television (“HGTV”) 2008 HGTV Dream Home GiveawaySM sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) in any of the following ways: (i) online by visiting the HGTV website (www.hgtv.com) (the “HGTV Website”) and completing the online entry form (limit one (1) online entry, per valid email address, per eligible person per day); or (ii) hand printing your name, complete address and phone number either on a postcard or on a separate piece of paper no larger than 8½ x 11 inches, and mailing the postcard or paper to HGTV Dream Home Giveaway, PO Box 51248, Knoxville, TN 37950. Entrants using US mail may enter as often as they wish. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by February 19, 2008 and received by February 25, 2008. Limit one (1) entry per envelope. Mechanically reproduced or hand-stamped entries or mailing labels or entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will not be accepted. Incorrect, illegible, and incomplete entries are void. These official rules are also available at the HGTV Website or by writing to HGTV Dream Home Giveaway – Rules Request, PO Box 52612, Knoxville, TN 37950.”

What do you think? Will I be dis-qualified?

First Day of Working Out

Joy and I decided to start getting up at 6:20 and working out from 6:30 till 7. Which is only a few minutes before Chase normally wakes up. This morning was the first morning of our working out. I’m glad to report that we DID actually start this morning and we only started 10 mins late. So then we did 30 minutes of yoga with Fai Chi Min, the overly buff host. I have to say that I felt much better in the shower today than normal. Usually I’m falling asleep standing or fighting the urge to lie down in the shower. I think this will be a great new routine. Hopefully Chase will keep sleeping through the night so we don’t have to put off a day. I think tom, we are going to try Tae Bo.
Anyone have any good recommendations as to what we should do for our 30 min workout?

Happy New Year!

Well Happy New Year! We are finding it hard to believe another year has flown by. We celebrate 3 years married today! Woo hoo. We are very excited for the new year, especially spring time and warm weather. Also for the new year, I’ve made a new mcvideos. The flash got an update with more movies on each page, smoother transitions + loading and a full screen option! Some other changes were made in the backend to make life easier for me when adding new videos.

Check out the new McVideos

Compare it to the old one (for a limited time, till I clear these out)

Oh and who thinks I should make the new one brown like the old one?

If you can’t get full screen to work, make sure you have the latest flash player installed

Sleepless in Springville

Chase is no longer a fan of sleep. So I was thinking… maybe Pace and I just need a little of this good stuff:

WGA Strike Continues

I find this whole writers thing fascinating. Does every single writer belong to the WGA? why can’t shows find some college dropout writers to take individual jobs? Likewise fascinating and annoying will be the list of shows that get interrupted b/c of the strike, and those who won’t. For example, Jay Leno and David Letterman will be attempting to go back on air on Jan 2nd, without any writers… but then who is writing? someone has to be labeled the writer.. and then wouldn’t they be entitled to be on strike?

So here is the discussion, given no writers who will be the better entertainer? Jay Leno or David Letterman?

And if shows decide to go on without writers and people like it… then there won’t be any “writers”.. discuss
